Lots of people choose Invisalign for a variety of reasons. Not only are they clear (so it looks like you’re not wearing any braces), but they are also convenient (you can eat whatever you want)! However, many patients feel that the results don’t come fast enough while wearing Invisalign. So how can you speed up treatment? Luckily, at White Orthodontics, we have some tips to help you! Our doctors and staff work hard to provide comprehensive, holistic orthodontic care for everyone of all ages. Many of our Invisalign patients want to speed up their treatment plan, so we have 5 essential tips that can help anyone get the results they want!

5 Tips to Help Speed Up Invisalign Treatment

  • AcceleDent- One of the best ways to speed up the Invisalign treatment is to use AcceleDent. AcceleDent is a device that actually helps your teeth move more efficiently, so you can switch into the next set of aligners faster. By wearing the mouthpiece, micro pulses stimulate the blood flow, improving the speed at which the jawbones shift. Your teeth sometimes move up 50% faster.
  • Wear as Directed (20-22 hours a day)- If you notice that your teeth aren’t shifting fast enough, it could be because you aren’t wearing them long enough. Most orthodontists recommend that you should wear the trays for at least twenty-two hours a day. The other two hours should give you plenty of time to eat, drink, and clean your teeth. This is the best way to wear your aligner.
  • Use Invisalign Chewies- Your orthodontist will give you an object to chew on daily while wearing your aligners. This is to make sure that the gap between your teeth and the aligners closes, making them tight enough to shift your teeth. By gently chewing down on them, you also remove air bubbles between your teeth and the clear aligner.
  • Switch Your Aligners as Directed- Your orthodontist will tell you to switch to your new pair of aligners typically every 1 to 2 weeks. Make sure to switch on time to ensure that your treatment is progressing. Also, don’t try to speed up your Invisalign by switching your trays early. It may cause pain, damage your aligners, or move your teeth incorrectly.
  • Maintain Your Appointments- While Invisalign requires fewer visits than other braces, it’s still important to check in with your orthodontist regularly. Your orthodontist will review your progress and check to see if there are any problems. If problems are left untreated, it can delay your progress.
